Saugerties, NY
Look forward to getting to His studio Martin offered to let me work there from time to time, will have to take him up on this.
Besides being a great Luthier, Martin can play his ass off on the bass, at the woodstock Luthiers show I saw and hears him playing with a great band some old Gypsy jazz type music, He was playing an acoustic  stand up bass and was making it look easy.

Met Michiro at show I was walking the show and there was this incredible blackened parlor guitar, I had to see and play it, i was hearing him share how he did the top which he used a spruce top and then procedded to use gunpowder under a fire blanket that he then lit up to burn and he did this around six times! He showed me a video of him lighting it up and man it was cool. I wanted to play it but Tim Farrell was going to play it in the listening gallery in a few minutes so i would have to wait to play and see it up close. I heard it played and it was great, I then played it and man if i had 14 grand i might have bought it.
The tuners were so amazing also as you couldnt see the moving parts they were under a metal plate that had Japanese writing engraved into it, I asked him what it said and he said it was all peaceful and happy words. He was one of my fav's at the show

I was introduced to Erich by Chris Arkin (Chris owns one of Erich's guitars)
He is such a great guy and when I mentioned Michiro he asked di he show you the harp guitar and i said no . He then said come with me and we went back to Michiro's booth and Erich asked him to show me the harp guitar and more.
Erich's guitars are so beautiful and I loved the way they play. Hope to see him soon.
